explore the local farmer's market with Rashawn.

The first thing I saw at the farmers market was lots of people and lots of fresh produce that caught my eye. The best part of my time at the market was when I tried S.C.R.E.A.M witch is a fresh fruit sorbet ice cream company that only adds sugar and water to there fresh fruit preserves. Seeing all the fresh food that was being sold at the farmers market was a very exciting and a new experience because I'm use to going to a regular supermarket that has regular fruit and vegetables that's been sitting there for hours or maybe even days, but who knows. Once again this was a very exciting and a new experience thatI would love to re-live.

Pear Cisp...somethings missing??

The first thing I thought about making a pear crisp was lots of work and lots of ingredients and after making it ,it would come out horrible...well this pear crisp was really easy with very little ingredients and still came out HORRIBLE! Angel(healthy food intern not in picture) and I were super excited to be making something so delicious for the first time.We were extra careful with adding the ingredients and making sure everything was going the way it was supposed to go, we put it in the oven for the right amount of time and we took it out and Angel said that it wasn't getting brown, we broiled the top, took it out and tried it...it tasted so undone..all that carefulness, all the patience...and by the way we used a healthy recipe site. So I blame it on the website even though it was pretty good tasting undone but for all those who think a healthy website is the best way to go, don't waste your time...do your research, compare other recipes. here are some sites the we trust:

Msg- the hidden flavor enhancer

Eating a bag of Doritos changed my life, as I was eating the chips my teacher said to me u shouldn’t eat those they have mgs in them. At the time I was like what is msg and what is he talking about. Later my confusion turned into a long night of researching, I just couldn’t believe what I was reading. The body was not created to consume artificial or man made anything so why are people creating stuff that can harm our bodies. Now that I’m aware of msg I’m constantly checking labels just to make sure it’s not in the food I eat everyday. The shady part about it is the FDA approves it, they believe more in profits than the health of the consumers. Msg which stands for monosodium glutamate Is a flavor enhancer it has a crazy effect on our bodies, which is an addictive substance it makes people eat more of the product than they would if msg wasn’t added to it. Reading that made me understand why obesity occurs. It’s not the consumers’ fault that these bags of chips or rice a roni taste so good they keep craving it; it’s the people who dump msg in our foods fault. So basically msg enables the food processor to add less real food in there products making us the consumer think that it’s okay in natural.
