It looks like there needs to be a drastic change in society so our children's future and the future of our country can be tangible. It all starts with our children. In order to become leaders of their communities they need to be healthy, and how can they be so if all they have access to is $1 burritos, $1 dollar sodas and two for a $1 chips? They can’t. Most people I know prefer MacDonald’s over a home cooked meal. A happy meal consists of a hamburger (with or without cheese, ketchup, mustard, chopped onions and no lettuce), a small fry ( coated with salt), a small drink of the child’s choice and now they have recently added apple slices so business wouldn’t receive any type of controversy due to obesity campaigns. In my eyes I see my community suffering due to lack of resources. They won’t give us health benefits, so can they at least give us a cheaper version of Whole food’s or Trader Joe's? That way we could stand a chance against falling and failing as one. Yes we have Framers market, but it can only provide so much. Instead of giving the students vending machines in High schools, they need to have a daily salad bar with every veggie and fruit that the average teen needs to consume on a daily basis. There needs to be more physical awareness and activities taking place at gym time rather than the girls watching the boys play basketball and all of the other kids are sitting around, not wearing their P.E uniform, waiting for class to end. Communities need to come together and create a plan of action and implement in order to save our children's future and the future of our country.
C'est la vie.. (SAY LA VEE)
